Scripps Pier by dv82u

Scripps Pier located in La Jolla, California spans 1,090 feet in length. Built with reinforced concrete, the pier was built from 1987-88 to replace the original pier which was built in 1915. The new pier was built alongside the old one. When finished, the old pier was taken down.

One of the largest research piers in the world, the pier is not for public use. The pier is mainly used for boat launching and and a variety of experiments performed by Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
